Welcome to our newest Honorary Board & Scientific Committee member, Jayeeta Basu, PhD. Jayeeta Basu heads the Synapses Circuits and Learning Laboratory at New York University Grossman School of Medicine, and Institue for Translational Neuroscience. The basu's lab's research focuses on neural circuit interactions that underlie formation, stabilization and plasticity of long-term memories to support crucial brain functions, like spatial navigation and adaptive learned behaviors. Her research program uses state-of-the-art neuroscience approaches spanning electrophysiology, two-photon imaging, genetic manipulations, and computation. Dr. Basu's work is particularly relevant for identifying mechanisms and therapies for memory disorders such as Alzheimer's Disease, epilepsy, and PTSD. Dr. Basu has mentored 2 of our student fellows during summers 2016 and 2025.
